Introduction to Java Programming 2010–2011 — Assessment

The course aims to develop practical programming skills, so it is mainly assessed through practicals. The breakdown of marks is as follows:

34%A practical programming assignment developing a simple “chat bot”.
10%A multi-choice question exam held in lab half way through term
43%A second practical programming assignment, this one developing a simple adventure game.
10%A second multi-choice question exam held towards the end of term
3%PeerWise: this year we're trying out PeerWise, to help students to prepare for the MCQ exams.
