There will be two assignments: the first is now available, and the second will be around week 8. They will appear here. The assignments are worth 8% and 12% of the total marks on the course. If you are only auditing the course (ie you do not intend to take the exam) feel free to attempt the coursework. However, it will not be marked.
Assignment 1 is now available. To do the assignment you will need the matlab file assign2007_1.mat. Please download it and save it to your own directory. You can load it using the matlab load command.
A good introduction to matlab is available: getstart.pdf. Please use this to help if you have no background knowledge of matlab. We have arranged matlab tutorial labs in Room 3.09 Appleton Tower on Monday 15th October, 1pm-3pm. These are for people with little or no matlab experience.

You can load it using the matlab load command. Likewise, the preprocessed rescaled data is at assign2007_2waveprep.mat. Note that the 1-of-m encoded targets are now called traintargets1m etc.
