Below are a selection of featured alumni blogs. If you write a blog that you think might be of interest to other Informatics alumni get in touch and, if suitable, we'll link to it from here. The blog might, for example, look at current technical trends or topics, talk about life as an Informatician or feature Edinburgh or the School of Informatics.

Technical & Business

Cunning Systems This blog, from Anne Johnson (MSc '84), looks at some of the latest developments in technology that grab her interest, with a particular focus on networking, cloud computing and the startup ecosystem.
The Mobiliser A blog from a mobile applications developer and company founder and CTO Richard Marshall (BSc '83, PhD '87) looking at the latest developments in mobile technology and anything else that sparks his interest.
Startup Cafe This blog is run by four Edinburgh alumni, including Kate Ho (BSc '03 & PhD '10) and Thomas Drapier (BSc '09) from Informatics, as well as Jessica Williamson (MSc '08) and Bela Hamid (BSc '08) who help contribute to the multidisciplinary feel of this blog. It covers all the latest news from the startup scene in Edinburgh and is a great place to go to find out about upcoming events and job openings.
Dr Jochen L Leidner's BlogIn his blog, Jochen Leidner (PhD '07) looks at topics related to his field of study including search technology, text analysis, natural language processing and other related areas.

Teach Mheana Gerry Mulvenna (BSc '89) writes about topics as diverse as his love for music (including some of his own), tips for Twitterers and memories from his student days.
Section HikerIf you're interested in hiking, Philip Werner (MSc '83) offers advice on lightweight backpacking, including personal reviews of kit, details of long distance trails in the US and information on an upcoming Scottish hiking challenge his is planning.
Somewhere In...Pedro Farinha (BSc '00) writes about his life and travels with updates on his family and the places they visit.
