Professor Dave Robertson is appointed head of school of Informatics

On the 1st of August 2009 Professor Dave Robertson will take over from Professor Michael Fourman as Head of School.

Dave said:

'It is a privilege to become head of an organisation that has contributed so much to the development of informatics as a science and as an engineering discipline.  There has never, in my experience, been so great a need for innovation in computing and application of our ideas to human problems.  Equally, there has never been a better opportunity to unify foundational aspects of our science and renew these in the light of the continuous flow of discoveries and insights generated by other sciences and from engineering.  We live in interesting times.'
