Ordinary Degrees

For every Honours degree (Single or Combined, but not `with'), there is a corresponding `Ordinary Degree in a Designated Discipline'. This degree is a B.Sc. even if the Honours degree is a B.Eng.

The rules for Ordinary Degrees are complex. In general, ordinary degree students follow the same curriculum in third year as the corresponding honours degree. However, it is possible to do some level 8 courses in place of level 9. Ordinary degree students who do not intend to follow the Honours curriculum should check with their Director of Studies that their choices are acceptable.

Note that the School of Informatics requires that students must do at least one major practical. In addition, students for the ordinary degree in Computer Science and/or Artificial Intelligence must do Professional Issues.
