Quick questions on Hutchinson et al. reading
Usual disclaimer: Being able to answer these questions does not prove that
you remember the reading perfectly! But at least, not being able to answer
them does suggest you should reread it.
There's no automated checking of these: just see if you could answer each
question in a sentence or two. If not, see the page indicated (page numbers
are given in terms of the PDF document, so "p1" is the one with 471 at its
foot, that being the page number in the published volume).
- What were the two main aims of the study described in this paper? (p1)
- Give examples (as many as you can) of factors that may be affected by
using MDD, positively or negatively, and of what these effects might be.
(p2, Table 1: NB this is "illustrative", i.e. coming from the authors'
experience/heads, not from their study specifically)
- Which UML diagrams were most often used by respondents? (p4)
- Qualitatively (i.e., don't memorise those percentages!), what did the
study find about...
- ...code generation? (p5)
- ...round-trip engineering (p6)
- ...tools (p6)
- (etc.)?
- What factors did interviewees say affected the adoption or success of
MDE in their organisation, and what advice might they give? (NB that in
itself is not a suitable exam question, but what I could do is give you a
fictional situation to comment on, in which case some of these comments, or
comments from other required reading or from the guest lectures, might be
pertinent and useful to remember.)
