Dave Lambert Semantic service composition

Abstract:

Automated service composition requires formalisms and languages to provide for the discovery, selection, composition, invocation, and monitoring of services and processes. We review several languages that aim to provide support for some of these, including the current de facto standard OWL-S, its forthcoming successor `Semantic Web Services Language', and a local challenger, LCC. We also look at approaches to implementing matchmaking and brokering (the discovery and selection issues) for service composition.
