This report is a deliverable for the OpenKnowledge project (www.openk.org) in which we discuss the way in which peers in a peer-to-peer network assess whether they wish to interact with other peers through evaluation of the ability of that other peer to perform the given service (via matching) and the appropriateness of trusting that peer in the given context. Algorithms are given for using past experience to calculate trust scores and to combine these with matching scores to produce an overall preference for whom to interact with.
