The volume contains a set of papers in the area of Artificial Intelligence and Music, involving internationally leading scholars in the area from both sides of this interdisciplinary field. All papers were reviewed by at least three reviewers from the program committee. The papers deal with a wide range of aspects of current research, including music analysis, pattern recognition and discovery, perception of melody and rhythm, musical expression and performance and the relation between music and natural language.
