Tim Colles reported that the majority of these changes had now been completed (although some more were coming to light), and a few changes still need to be made at each site. However, all this appears to be under control and this item will be removed from future minutes.
The use of the infpasswd utility was strongly recommended as a way of keeping future UIDs in sync and to avoid username conflicts. Ken Dawson reported that there is a User ID field in the Divisional DB that will help in UID allocation and duplication avoidance.
There are some small problems still outstanding - but these are being investigated, and a status report will be given at the next meeting

It was previously suggested (at the last meeting) that the Divisional DB might need to be run on newer/faster hardware. Tim Colles reported that the whole question of hardware & software support for the DB was being investigated.
Investigations are ongoing, and Tim will report back on findings & progress.

Alastair Scobie and Ken Dawson reported that applications for the new CO posts would close on the 24th November, and that interviews would be held shortly after that. It was noted that applications notified to date had not been numerous, one post having had no applications at all.
Tim gave the first part of a talk on the Divisional Database, concentrating on its history and development from a suite of earlier AI applications, and current composition and usage statistics.

It was suggested that meetings be held once every two months. This proposal will be considered at the next meeting.
