Informatics Fourth Year Honours Course Guide
Careers

Students should start thinking about their future careers at least by the start of fourth year. The University Careers Service at 33 Buccleuch Place or in Kings Buildings is designed to help students to find jobs and is able to offer a lot of assistance. All 4th year students should receive a letter from the Careers Service shortly after the start of the first semester. Among the services offered are assistance with writing a curriculum vitae, practice in interview technique and interviews with prospective employers. Students are strongly advised to take advantage of these services.

Literature concerning careers and further study appears on noticeboards, and a set of pigeonholes outside JCMB 2509 contains company literature. Information is also posted to eduni.inf.ug4. During the year the School typically hosts careers presentations by various employers.
