A number of grants are available to attend various USENIX
conferences.
These provide full fees, accommodation and travel to major US
conferences. The submission process is very simple, and students from
Edinburgh regularly receive the awards.
The USENIX
Advanced Computing Systems Association has been
active since 1975. Its aim is to bring together the community
of engineers, system administrators, scientists, and technicians
working on the cutting edge of the computing world. The USENIX
conferences have become the essential meeting grounds for the
presentation and discussion of the most advanced information on the
developments of all aspects of computing systems. These conferences
cover a wide range of topics, see http://www.usenix.org/events/.
Applications for the Usenix '08 conference are due by Friday, May 9, 2008. Apply here.
Guidelines and hints for the
applications are available here.
