Overview

Descriptor:
The course descriptor provides an overview of course content, learning outcomes and administration.
Lectures:
The course lectures are given on Tuesday from 12:10 to 13:00 in room 4.12 of Appleton Tower, and on Friday from 12:10 to 13:00 in room 4.12 of Appleton Tower. The first lecture of this course is on Tuesday 13th January 2008 (semester dates and official timetable — page down to see the Semester 2 timetable).
Schedule and Readings:
The schedule provides a list of lectures, handouts, readings, and details of tutorials and coursework. This table contains a provisional list of lectures and readings with firm dates for issue and submission of practical work. It will be finalised by the end of week 2 (Fri 23rd Jan 2009). The last lecture of the course will take place on Friday 6th March, with an option on a revision lecture on Friday the 13th (!), leaving the final three weeks of the semester free for clarification, exam revision and feedback on the practical work.

The set text for the course is Software Testing and Analysis by Mauro Pezzè and Michal Young.

Coursework:
Practical 1 was issued on Monday 19th January. Practical 2 was issued on Monday 2nd February.
News group:
The news group eduni.inf.course.st is a useful communication medium for exchanges that could be of general interest to all of the group.
Tutorials:
Tutorials begin in Week 2 (the week beginning Monday, 19th January 2008). See the official timetable (Semester 2 at bottom of page, not yet published) for details of your tutorial group's meeting time and location. The group allocations (not yet available) will be finalised by the end of Semester 2, Week 1.
Lecture log:
The course lecture log gives information about the progress of the course.
Past exams:
Past papers and sample solutions are available for the 2008 exam, the 2007 exams and the 2006 exams. Statistics for grades for past years may be found on the school's course statistics page.

The course lecturer is Conrad Hughes. My office is in the Informatics Forum (Google green “A” lollipop in centre of map), Room 3.46.
