News:

12th March 2009: The 2009 Spring exam timetables have been published.
27th February 2009: Here's a discussion of some of the issues raised by the testing you need to do in practical 2.
9th February 2009: In view of the disruption caused by this morning's fire alarms, and the uncertainty over whether they'll recur between now and midday I'm postponing the practical 1 submit deadline by 24 hours, to 12 midday tomorrow (Tuesday 10th February).
2nd February 2009: The second practical is now available. The deadline is 12 midday on Friday 13th March.
19th January 2009: The first practical is now available. The deadline is 12 midday on Tuesday 10th February — note 24 hour postponement from original Monday 9th February deadline.
13th January 2009: Six copies of Pezzè and Young's book are available in levels three and four of Appleton Tower. They're secured to tables in the small public spaces just to the north of the main public areas on both floors.
13th January 2009: Just to be clear, tutorials won't start until next week, but do keep an eye on the tutorial links below so you know as soon as they're scheduled.
13th January 2009: Just an hour before the first lecture, the BBC posted this article on the “25 most dangerous programming errors”, referring to the list on the SANS website. This kind of thing will turn up later in the course, so you might be interested to take a look at it (but bear in mind that this list is very much security-focussed).
10th September 2008: Welcome to Software Testing 2008/2009! Some material on this site may not be fully accurate until close to, or just after, the start of teaching (January 2009) — for example the tutorial and exam timetables for Semester 2 haven't yet been posted — so do check back!

Overview

Descriptor:: The course descriptor provides an overview of course content, learning outcomes and administration.
Lectures:: The course lectures are given on Tuesday from 12:10 to 13:00 in room 4.12 of Appleton Tower, and on Friday from 12:10 to 13:00 in room 4.12 of Appleton Tower. The first lecture of this course is on Tuesday 13th January 2008 (semester dates and official timetable — page down to see the Semester 2 timetable).
Schedule and Readings:: The schedule provides a list of lectures, handouts, readings, and details of tutorials and coursework. This table contains a provisional list of lectures and readings with firm dates for issue and submission of practical work. It will be finalised by the end of week 2 (Fri 23rd Jan 2009). The last lecture of the course will take place on Friday 6th March, with an option on a revision lecture on Friday the 13th (!), leaving the final three weeks of the semester free for clarification, exam revision and feedback on the practical work.
Course Book:: The set text for the course is Software Testing and Analysis by Mauro Pezzè and Michal Young.
Resources:: The resources page is a list of useful sites, readings, revision material …
Coursework:: Practical 1 was issued on Monday 19th January. Practical 2 was issued on Monday 2nd February.
News group:: The news group eduni.inf.course.st is a useful communication medium for exchanges that could be of general interest to all of the group.
Tutorials:: Tutorials begin in Week 2 (the week beginning Monday, 19th January 2008). See the official timetable (Semester 2 at bottom of page, not yet published) for details of your tutorial group's meeting time and location. The group allocations (not yet available) will be finalised by the end of Semester 2, Week 1.
Lecture log:: The course lecture log gives information about the progress of the course.
Past exams:: Past papers and sample solutions are available for the 2008 exam, the 2007 exams and the 2006 exams. Statistics for grades for past years may be found on the school's course statistics page.
