Project Software Engineer

These roles are based in the United States of America, approximately an hours drive south of New York.  They are permanent posts within a prominent and vibrant Organisation, with resources in place to look after your relocation and work visa issues to make the transition as easy as possible.

Job Description

Software is a very important issue to this Company, being the critical connection between technology and customers. An outstanding user interface makes a system easy and intuitive, good software is absolutely crucial to continued success in the systems marketplace.

This role will be to create applications that are used to design, program and operate lighting control systems.  This will involve defining system requirements, developing specifications, creating graphical user interfaces, constructing relational databases and developing communications protocols.  You will use object-oriented programming techniques and structured query language to develop product-related applications; you will also have an opportunity to develop business-related applications for internet, intranet and client-server environments.

Project software Engineers work in cross-functional teams that create new products and bring them to market.  You will be part of a team that takes a product all the way from its original design concept through manufacturing to its ultimate launch into the marketplace.  You will be involved in the process from beginning to end.  This will involve talking to Customers, developing product specifications, creating prototypes, manufacturing, testing and launching the final product.   

Qualifications

We seek talented, success-minded people with the desire and ability to make things happen. You will have a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Science or Maths, with at least a 2.1 Honours from a good Engineering University.

You enjoy a challenge and working in teams, and you will also have outstanding communication skills.  You like to look at broad issues and identify root causes, not quick fixes.  You are willing to ask tough questions and seek new resources.  You work hard to find not just a solution, but the best solution.

You've excelled academically but have a life outside the classroom. You have a history of making a difference - organizations are stronger when you become involved.  You want to become a leader, and you want to mentor others as well.

The starting salary for these opportunities will be in the region of £330K - £334K.
