CS4 Software Engineering with Objects and Components 2

This module runs in term 1, on Mondays and Thursdays at 10 in 3317

• Draft book related to the course. SEOC1, prerequisite to this course, covered approximately Chapters 1 - 4, 5,7,9,11 of this book, so if you didn't do that or want some revision those are what you want to read. (Chapter 2 is the most vital, since it covers object concepts.)

  • The draft of Using UML has now been removed from the Web because the book has been published. If you're missing copies of draft chapters see me (or better, buy the book :-)

  Remember that the other material I handed out is just as much examinable as these notes. In many cases the notes are just minor additions to the Using UML chapters, for example. The chapters I handed out for this course are 1, 4, 6, 10, 13, 14, 18, 19, 20. So in total, including the prerequisites, you need to be familiar with the material chapters 1 - 7 (omit 8) 9 - 11 (omit 12) 13 14 (omit 15 16 17) 18 19 20. Of course what I'll be trying to examine is the material that was new in this couse, but it could happen that in order to answer an examination question you would have to remember the prerequisite material as well.
