Students wishing to do well on the report, or indeed on any written assignments in any course, should check out J. Bednar's list of writing tips.
You are required to use Subversion (or a more recent VC system) to coordinate your efforts on the assignments in this course, as described in our revision control policy.
Everyone should also read through the
gmake
tutorial. You are not required to use make for your
projects, but you will need to know exactly how and why it can be
useful, and the easiest way to understand that is to actually use the
tool for something real.
Note that all work submitted must be the original work of the SAPM student done for this course alone. All student assignments are submitted electronically, and copies will be kept on file. These can be checked for plagiarism (e.g. against public and private databases) at any time, and retroactive punishment (including possible revocation of degree qualifications) for offenses found later is quite possible.
