Honours Project (INF-4-PROJ):
Calendar for 2008-09

In 2008/2009 we have new guidelines for ``Structure of the Academic Year" from our Director of Teaching. The ug4 project runs continuously through the academic year, from week 1 of semester 1 until week 12 of semester 2; however, there will be some intensive periods when ug4 project students should be working full-time on their project

Semester 1

Project work should get well underway during weeks 1-5, because this period has fewer coursework deadlines than the remainder of the semester.  Work should continue (amongst your other coursework) in weeks 6-10. You will again have weeks 11-13 to work full time on your project.
Event Date
First project group meetings Week commencing 13th October (Week 4)

Semester 2

Work on the project must restart quickly in weeks 1-5, because this period has fewer coursework deadlines than the remainder of the semester. This will include starting to write your project dissertation. Work should continue (amongst your other coursework) in weeks 6-10. You will have week 11 and part of week 12 to concentrate full time on finishing/polishing your project dissertation.
Second project group meetings Week commencing 19th January (Week 2)
Intermediate project report due Friday 23rd January
Third project group meetings Week commencing 2nd March (Week 8, semester 2)
Submission deadline for project reports 4pm, Wednesday 1st April (middle of Week 12, semester 2)
Project presentations (majority) Week commencing Tuesday 21st April (Week 1 of Examination period)
