Persona
For the persona methodology you have two options:
- Create one persona
- Evaluate the interface using a GenderMag persona
Option 1: Create one persona
For this option you will need to write a new persona which embodies a standard type of person from your user group. If possible, I recommend using some of the data generated by your group member who did the design requirements methodology.
Writeup
Your writeup must address the following points:
- Attach the persona you developed, this does not count towards your page limit.
- Describe the process you went through to generate the persona. This could include looking at outcomes from your other group members, or reading existing personas and then modifying them. Describe how you went about creating the persona and why you think this is the most appropriate one.
- Describe two scenarios that you think your persona might try and engage in using Office 365 calendar.
- One paragraph reflection on the persona creation process. In your opinion what worked, what didn't, and how might you do it differently next time.

Option 2: GenderMag
Option 2 is another version of a Cognitive Walkthrough, except instead of using Neilson's 10 heuristics you will be using one of the
GenderMag personas. The key difference is that in standard heuristic evaluation you are looking to see if the user interface violates the heuristic. In a persona-based cognitive walkthrough you instead ask if the persona is likely to complete the task correctly.
The GenderMag protocol is very well explained and documented, please
read through the documentation to help understand how to complete this method.
The GenderMag guidance as written is intended for group sessions. You do not need to do it as a group, it is only required that a single person go through the process for this course work.
- Include the reports you generate as an attachment, these will not count towards your page limit.
- Name the GenderMag persona you chose to use.
- Describe the high level tasks you chose to focus on and why you selected those tasks. GenderMag asks you if the person is likely to do the "right thing"; how did you decide what the "right thing" was?
- Based on your evaluation, is the Office 365 calendar app gender inclusive? Why or why not?
- One paragraph reflection on using GenderMag. In your opinion what worked, what didn't, and how might you do it differently next time.
