Documentation and usage notes

These pages document the installation and use of TeX and LaTeX within the School of Informatics.

The School-wide version is based on teTeX version 3.0. The best place to find information on teTeX is the documentation which comes with the package. This can currently be found by visiting the local file URL via your browser file:///usr/share/texmf/doc/index.html. Older documentation on teTeX 1.0 can be found here.

In addition to the basic packages shipped with teTeX, there are a number of additional packages installed locally, as described on the local additions page. For information on finding and installing new packages, please see the new packages page.

Further resources for information on basic teTeX are the (La)TeX Navigator online encyclopedia, the TeX User Group (TUG) and CTAN, the Comprehensive TeX Archive Network.
