Lecture Video Capturing
Video Capturing Team
During the past few years the School has captured several hundred hours of course lectures on video; presenting them online as a resource, study aide and recruitment tool.
We're always looking to recruit existing students to assist with the videoing and editing of these lectures. The main responsibilities of those recruited to this post include:
- Setting up equipment at the start of a lecture.
- Keeping the camera on the action!
- Disassembly at end of the lecture.
- Content editing prior to web presentation.
-
Update of web pages to point to video.
Each lecture requires about 1.5 hours work (you get to see the lecture, too!). We are aiming to capture at least three lecture series each semester, which means a minimum of 9 hours of work a week - which would suit a team of 2-3 students. We'd ideally like to recruit a team of 4-5 students who can be trained at the start of session and work on a rota basis throughout semester 1 and 2 to record lectures against a schedule maintained by computing colleagues. Please contact Alison Downie for additional information, or to put yourself forward as a possible member of the team.
Payment
The University has agreed that payment for these activities shall normally be made at demonstrator rate (grade UE06), approximately £13.75 per hour.
