The School of Informatics will routinely consider tutoring and demonstrating applications from the following:
- PGR students within the School of Informatics (who are making an application with the approval of their Supervisor).
- PGR students outside the School of Informatics who believe they have suitable knowledge and experience.
- Research Assistants within the School of Informatics (who are making an application with PI approval).
- UG Honours students within the School of Informatics (note that UG students are rarely given work unless their marks are of >70% standard).
Due to the high workload and time commitment involved in tutoring and demonstrating, the School does not encourage applications from MSc students, although special case applications will be considered.
Students from outside the EU who do not have a valid work permit cannot be employed by the University of Edinburgh.
RAs please note that you can only be paid for this work if your RA contract is part-time. Full-time RAs are expected to contribute to the School's teaching as part of their RA contractual obligations and therefore cannot be paid extra for this work.
