PG Induction Timetable 2012
Matriculation & Student Card collection
Your first task is to register formally with the University, full information is available on the Registry website. Please be aware that registration takes place ahead of your arrival in Edinburgh, if you have not already received your matriculation card you can collect it from Card Services at Adam House on the following dates, outside these dates, Card Services is based in the Main Library at George Square:
Monday 10th September 2012: 12.30 - 16.30
Thursday 13th September 2012: 9.15 - 12.30
Monday 17th - Thursday 20th September 2012: 9.15 - 16.30
Register with the School of Informatics
Students are also required to register with the School of Informatics Student Services team to complete matriculation and collect your Induction packs from Monday 10th September:

Neuroinformatics Doctoral Training Centre (DTC) Appleton Tower, Room 4.02 on Wednesday 12th September 2012 from 13:00 - 16:30
Postgraduate Research students (PGR and DTC) will also be given their office key, please note that a £10.00 key deposit is required.

The following programme of events is relevant to incoming Informatics postgraduate students, events are intended for Taught students (Masters), Research students (Masters, PhD) or both, as indicated on the schedule.
Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th September 2012
We advise that you spend the first couple of days of induction week taking care of your Registration with the University and School of Informatics and familiarising yourself with Edinburgh and the University campus. Please follow the University wide calendar of induction events specific to new taught and research postgraduate students, including campus tours and a series of events intended for international students.
The University of Edinburgh's Student Association (EUSA) also hold events for postgraduate students during Induction Week.

Tony Lynch - IALS [English for Academic Purposes]An optional event intended to help diagnose whether you may benefit from ELTT English courses or materials, offered free of charge to non-native speakers on PG programmes. Students with an English test score below 7.0 IELTS, or equivalent must take TEAM, see: Recommended for non-UK MSc students, there are further sessions on Friday 14th and during week 1 and 2 of semester. |
