Director of Graduate School

The Director of the Graduate School is principally responsible for co-ordinating the recruitment, selection and funding of research postgraduates. This includes high-level review of postgraduate programme provision; development and maintenance of public and internal information about programmes, application processes, and funding opportunities; and representation of the School at College and University level regarding postgraduate research student issues. It also involves oversight of the entire admissions process for PGR applicants, in co-operation with the Institute PGR selectors and the ISS. The Director has involvement in policy-making regarding student supervision, training and progression issues, but management of day-to-day matters arising for research students within the School is devolved to the Deputy Director of the Graduate School.
