New genomics technologies enable high throughput analysis of a huge spectrum of genetic content, gene expression and protein activity. Accordingly, biology has become a rapidly expanding domain of information science. In this context, the integration of the qualitative and quantitative measuring technologies with appropriate statistical and computational systems is a fundamental challenge. Professor Ghazal will discuss his collaborative efforts to evolve new biologic and informatic structures for accelerating biomarker discovery and a systems-level understanding of biology.
