Disruption

The ITO has now relocated to Room 3.11 in Appleton Tower. Telephone numbers as before.
See the computing page for up-to-date details of the state of service.

Tutorials

The loss of South Bridge and subsequent move to Level 3 of Appleton Tower meant that Informatics lost around about 9 dedicated tutorial rooms (in SB and AT).  The ITO has arranged alternative tutorial accommodation for the remainder of the first half of this session.  Follow these links for details of these new tutorial venues for the following courses: This information will not be final until Friday 20 December 2002.

We realise that this accommodation may not be as convenient, or desirable, but ask that you understand the difficulty we've had in making these arrangements at the last minute.

Revised Deadlines for Term 1, Week 10

If your home directory was at South Bridge, or if the software required for the homework (e.g. Matlab) is not available at the moment because of the fire, your assignment deadlines have been extended as follows:
Please note that the CS1 lab on level 3 in Appleton Tower will be closed to undergraduates throughout the Christmas vacation.

CS2 assignment: 4pm, Friday 13th December.

AI2 assignment: REVISED Software is affected so the deadline for EVERYBODY is now 4pm, Friday 10th January.

CL1 assignment: unaffected by the fire, only public labs/machines used.

CP1, CS1, Honours, MSc: 4pm, Friday 10th January, i.e. Friday at the end of week 1 of next term.

Group assignments, e.g. HCI: if one or more members of your group have home directories affected by the fire, then the deadline for the group submission is 4pm, Friday 10th January, i.e. Friday at the end of week 1 of next term.

If your home directory or the software you use HAS NOT been affected by the fire then your deadlines remain as originally advertised by your course lecturer.

Please give precedence for machine use to those who are working on assignments. Assignments take precedence over web browsing and reading email.
