Description:  

The major responsibility of the Teaching Assistant will be to maintain and mark the two practical assignments in the course. The assignments will be similar to last year: (1) intelligent web-crawler and (2) image search, but will involve some re-structuring and possibly use of different datasets. The assistant may also be asked to help develop and supervise up to four 2-hour lab sessions.

Skills:

The TA will need to be familiar with information retrieval and have experience processing large amounts of textual data. Good scripting skills would be very helpful. Having done well in TTS would be suitable preparation.  

Total Hours: up to 140 (depending upon student numbers) This post is paid at grade UE06, currently upwards of £12.50/hr.
