Algorithms & Data Structures
Time in Year:
Course runs in Semester 1.
Number of Posts:
1 or 2 (depending on enrollment)
Each tutor will take 1 or 2 groups from week 3-10 in semester 1.
Each tutorial is 50 mins. The tutor must be very strong in
Algorithms and Data Structures. The focus of the course is
proving correctness and/or time bounds, so tutors must be
confident in doing rigorous proofs.
If there are PhD students at Edinburgh who previously took ADS
here and scored highly, and who have good comunication skills,
they would be perfect for the job.
There are 2 courseworks for ADS. The tutor may be asked to
grade one batch of courseworks, if he/she is interested. The
tutor will be paid the hourly marking rate for this task.
Tutorials for ADS are paid at grade UE06, currently upwards of
£12.50/hr [note that tutorials are paid at double time, 2x50ins,
to allow for preparation]
8 or 16 (depending on enrollment)
