Course: Computer Security
Type: Teaching Assistant
Time in Year: Course runs in Semester 2, some preparation in Sem 1 needed.
Number of Posts: 1 (possibly 2)
Description:
Description: Teaching Assistant for Computer Security required
primarily to help test, maintain and mark two practical exercises: one
on secure Java programming, the other on web application security. See
course web page for details of these and to understand background
required (http://www.inf.ed.ac.uk/teaching/courses/cs/). Knowledge of
both of these areas (especially the first) is a strong advantage,
although someone who is keen to learn, partly in their own time, would
be considered too. The job could also be split, although preference
will be given to applicants who can support both exercises.
There is also an opportunity also to assist in giving a small number of
tutorials during the course. Tutorials are on worked examples and *not*
directly related to the practical exercises. Preference will be given
to applicants who could assist in tutorials as well as practical exercises.
This post is paid at grade UE06,
currently upwards of £12.50/hr. Double time for tutoring.
Total Hours: up to 50 hours (demo rate), 2-6 hours (tutoring)
