Description: to give tutorials on Human Communication, which is
cognitive science from a rather logical perspective. Substantially
introductory natural language material, with an emphasis on formal
semantics, and a certain amount of material on cognition, logic,
reasoning, the Chinese Room, and approaches to handing non-linguistic
modalities such as graphics.
Skills needed: general cognitive science knowledge, especially
simple
NL syntax and formal semantics.
Total hours: 11 or so (double if you take two tutorial groups)
plus
possible marking -- there are 3 assignments in the course, usually
about 70 students.
