Description: The emphasis of the course is on transaction processing and concurrency control. There will also be material on the design of multidimensional databases for OLAP (on-line analytical processing. The packages used will possibly be Microsoft SQL Server and Platinum's ERwin but this module will be taught by a new lecturer, Prof Buneman (who isn't here yet).
